Going Back in the (Computer) Closet
When Julian and Ellie got their next paychecks, I started working on furnishing the bedrooms to be a little nicer, starting with the master bedroom on the first floor.

It's still kind of bare, but better than an empty box with a bed. I also moved the desk and computers I'd had set up in here into one of the spaces that were meant to be closets on the original floor plan.

Other side of the room. For science.

Ellie, Julian, and Helium all got sick at work and school respectively, so they had to make the trek down the hill to the hospital.

That left Hydrogen and Lithium with the house to themselves.
Also I remembered the kitchen sink.

They got real games on here! :O
Don't mind that Lithium's portrait is messed up.

The children then had a lovely meal prepared by their parents.
Helium: That's not how you eat, dummy.
Lithium: The guy on the cooking show said you have to use all your senses to appreciate a meal.
Hydrogen: I don't think he meant jam on toast when he said that.

Took this picture to commemorate the fact that my system for getting the kids out the door in the morning with the three bathrooms seems to be successful. Hopefully they'll start getting better grades now that they're going to school happy.

It seems to be working for the other kids, but Helium still is struggling in his classes. I think it might have to do with the fact that he doesn't have any points in his 'mind' stat? We might have to prioritize making sure kids have a point there by the time they reach school age in the future.
I'm having him study science on the computer because... well, it can't hurt his grades, right?
And Julian has to study too, because he's underlevelled in like, every skill his job requires.

Might as well have the other kids work on some skills if we're making Helium do it.

I didn't have any more skill objects, so Hydrogen has to settle for a book. He opens straight to a page with the periodic table on it. I'm so proud.

We almost got a family dinner to happen. They're in the same room while people are still eating, at least.

Hydrogen aged up to preteen in the middle of the night!

He got the 'gloomy' aspect, which made me decide he needed a makeover immediately.

This seemed appropriate for a gloomy preteen.
Hydrogen: It's not a phase!

And here's his everyday outfit, because it amuses me.

I'm not sure why I took this picture? Maybe the twins both had homework or something.

Hydrogen went out to socialize, ant it was at this point that I realized the other kids in town aren't aging. Which is fine; the first legacy challenges I knew about were Sims 2 legacies where the same townies would just hang around the family for generations.

This is not proper railroad safety.

Here is me realizing all the street signs have actual street names.

With a bit more money in the bank, I start to tackle the kids' rooms. Hydrogen's room has been decorated to suit his new personality. I've also gotten him a keyboard to practice with.

As well as some moody posters. I already had some goth posters in-game and figured he'd like them.

And helium's room.

I brought back the clown from his nursery.
And then I ran out of money for Lithium's.

But we did get some preteen pictures of Hydrogen.

I tried to get Lithium and Helium to build a sandcastle together, but Helium decided he would do it out here.
Helium: I can't be seen interacting with my sister in public. That's embarrassing.

Hydrogen: I must become one with the piano.

I thought I'd treat the kids to ice cream at the Sunday Market, but the ice cream apparently makes them grumpy.

Seriously, this is the saddest I've ever seen a child holding an ice cream cone. With DOUBLE SCOOP.

Figured Ellie could fix the newspaper thing while everyone's out here. I think it earns you some money, actually, which is nice.

We live on Leblanc Street, apparently.

Kids playing hopscotch.
Lithium: Don't think I forgot how you ditched me the other day, Lium.

Since everyone else was here, I made Hydrogen be sociable. So he played piano for everyone at the market.
I know this is supposed to be the low level animation, but all I could think was "wow, this kid is so good he can play Moonlight Sonata with one finger"

Anything interesting, Lili?
Lithium: Who is Moustache Man?

Hydrogen went home and watched... I guess a soap opera? ... after the market.

Julian, you decided to make and eat a hot dog yourself; don't come crying to me.

Helium came home from school with gym homework on Monday.
Helium: I need to relate this to food. It's my strongest subject.

Did a quick check in on the wall of fame in Town Hall.
We must dethrone this man.

Had to unstuck the family because they couldn't get places for some reason and noticed Hydrogen is almost as tall as his parents now. 😮
I wonder if he'll be taller than they are?
